I got the workout Bug!

So I finally got the work out bug. I went to work out Monday after work. I like to workout my lower body. I use to be really skinny with no shape, until I started doing squats/lunches in my room in middle school to change my body. It actually worked  after a lot of people told me it was impossible to change the shape of my butt. I got addicted to working out since then and have gotten a lot of compliments on my butt growing up. I kinda been slacking off here lately but I’m ready to kick it into gear again. Yesterday I did the stair master for 15 mins and was drenched in sweat. Lets you know how long it’s been since I’ve worked out. I then went and did the hip abductor machine that works the much loved saddle bags. I then finished up my workout with the leg press and hamstrings machine. I am so sore and it’s only Wednesday. I completely forgot to stretch so if your planning on working out don’t forget to stretch before and after your workout or you will be hurting for days. I like to work my lower body :legs, butt, thighs, hamstrings and calves. Im going back tonight for another workout and again doing probably the same machines. I really want to get some nice “runner” legs. You know the legs that runners have are so tight looking. I’ll keep you updated on my progress..its going to be slow but productive if I stick with it.

Still in search the constant search for a great Sunblock but did run across this one from Clinique. It's SPF 50 so that's always good, the most you need on your face is 30 but I'll take 50. lol Well this sunblock I would rate it an 8. Its actually really good, and hasn't caused me any break outs. I apply it in the morning and mix it with my foundation. Its a white creamy consistency but blends in really fast and quick so your face doesn't feel greasy at all.

Lets get Motivated!

One of my goals before summer had started was to lose 20 pounds. I use to be really into shape, worked out every day and was going out dancing every weekend. Well once I got into a relationship my metabolism seemed to slow down after a few years. I have been in a long distance relationship for about 6 yrs now…yes I know…and we go out to eat A LOT. I finally started working out before summer got here, and I was able to meet my goal of losing 20 pounds. I joined the gym, joined a walking club at my job, watched my calorie intake and portion size. Its definitely hard work and I’m constantly trying to stay motivated. I hope you continue to read my blog and all the tips I have to offer on how to stay in shape, what exercises I do at the gym, how I count calories and watch my portion sizes and what I eat and do on my cheat days :) I think everyone deserves a cheat day here and there. I hope I can keep you and myself motivated as well.
If you have any tips please feel free to share! I am always open to new ideas :)

Lush Lashes!

For years I have been using Maybelline Full and Soft waterproof/non waterproof mascara in very black. I layer on the waterproof one first then the non waterproof on top. I like to set my curl with the waterproof one, which allows my curled eyelashes to last all day and night in this Texas extreme heat. This layering still gives me soft lashes to the touch and it doesn’t look all gloppy and gross like I have way too much mascara on. Well here lately I have been wanting a fuller lash look so I decided to try CoverGirl’s Lash Blast Volume. I still set my curl with the Maybelline Full and Soft waterproof mascara, and then layered the CoverGirl Lash Blast on top of it a few times. I don’t really like the Lash Blast’s mascara wand. The bristles are a lot shorter and fatter than I am use to compared to the Maybelline Full and Soft mascara, but it did give me a fuller lash look. It came on kinda heavy also so you have to wiggle the wand through your lashes a few times to smooth it out evenly. I didn’t like the way it looked on my lower lashes though..it looked kinda spidery so I went back to using the Mabelline Full and Soft on my lower lashes. But this CoverGirl Lash Blast is definitely good to try on the top lashes if you want to give your eyes a more dramatic look.

Review on Aveeno Sunblock Lotion

I am always in search of a great sunblock for my face. I have very sensitive skin, oily with mild breakouts now that I'm birth control. I tried this Aveeno Continuous Protections Sunblock SPF 30 for face. Its a great product but I thought it was a little greasy for my face and it did break me out a little. It has a very light pleasant fragrance that i love though. Not the typical "sunblock" smell that most sunblocks have. I don't use it on my face anymore but i do use it on my neck/chest and arms. No breakouts there so that's good. :)

Twins (not that kind) lol

So last night I decided to go to church. I haven’t been in a couple of years…ok maybe like 10 years besides for weddings. Lol Neways so I brought one of my friends with me and as we were leaving the service this lady in the lobby was handing out flyers and she shook my friends hand and then my friend turned to me and said, “ OMG she looked just like me!” “She had my same face shape and everything!” lol I just thought this was hilarious because who says that? lol And how would you know if someone looked just like you..half the time I don’t even recognize my own face when I pass by beauty counter mirrors at the mall. Lol I dunno…this just made me laugh for days…

School

Uggghh so currently I am enrolled at a community college. I FINALLY decided what I want to do with my life after years and years of going back and forth between different degrees. What a waste of time! LOL So I decided that I want to go to school to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I have a few prerequisite classes to take and then I will be able to apply for the program. I'm not going to lie, its really hard trying to manage a full time job,rent/util/groceries/gas etc..not including going to school full time and the cost of books. I seriously feel like I'm drowning, and am hoping that I can land a higher paying job soon to help pay for these classes/books. I have never done student loans before and have just been paying out of pocket for all of my classes/books. I really don't want to be in debt to school so I am on a payment plan right now. I just hope I can manage my money well enough to get through all of this! Well, that was my venting for the day after I looked at my checking account balance. LOL IT'S NOT EVEN THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH YET lol ok I'm done venting forreal this time. Wish me luck, I'll keep you updated...going to be buying my books this week...horray. lol

Draw Time!

My sister is such a hard worker. Look what she drew me on her computer using "Paint". LOL You gotta give her props because she is only using her mouse to draw this.  I'll post some more later :)

Purity Made Simple by Philosophy!

If you are in search of a great face wash you should definitely give Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple a try. I have very sensitive, oily combination skin. I break out with any products that contain fragrance or a lot of chemicals. It took me years to find this face wash after trial and error with other ones. I decided to give it a try after reading such great reviews about it. I went to Sephora and they gave me a free sample to try at home. I fell in love. It really removed all of my waterproof mascara and makeup. I used a toner afterwards to see what makeup it left behind on my face and my cotton ball still looked clean and white. I haven’t used anything else since then. It’s basically a face wash and toner in one. It’s a creamy yellow consistency, with an earthy very light fragrance. It doesn’t lather up very much and a little goes a long way. I think I use about a quarter size amount or less each time I wash my face. I stopped breaking out when I used this face wash because it really does clean deep down into your pores. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight either. I also use it on my chest and back after I work out because it deep cleans and really prevents breakouts. So many people have asked me what I started using because my face cleared up so fast. I cant say enough great things about this product. If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out! Sephora gives out free samples in the store if you are interested in trying it!

Great way to end the weekend :)

Why did I just find a piece of hard black plastic in my cheerio crunch cereal? WTF.. at first I thought it was just a burnt piece of cereal...I dunno, just trying to give it the benefit of the doubt...then I thought "hmm..maybe it's a bug?" After intense investigation of smooshing, smelling, and tasting...it turned out to be a piece of black plastic. Yay...I love Sundays.

Hydrate your skin

Drinking eight 16 oz glasses of water a day is essential to hydrate and cleanse the skin from within. Just be sure to have alot of toilet paper on hand..you will be needing it. Bottoms up!
